GDPR Seminar

Futures Business Voice hosted a free GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) seminar in partnership with PC Help Centre Limited on Tuesday 14th November 2017.

Futures Business Voice is part of Marsh Farm Futures’ commitment to supporting local businesses through seminars, workshops and networking opportunities. Adrian and Annette White, from PC Help Centre, an IT Managed Services Provider and Cyber Security business, led the seminar.  Annette is Vice-Chair of Futures Business Voice and is also on the board of directors of Marsh Farm Futures.

The well attended seminar gave participants useful tools and information on what GDPR means for businesses and the important steps that must be taken to ensure GDPR compliancy is in force and fully functioning. The General Data Protection Regulation is the first comprehensive overhaul and replacement of European data protection legislation in over twenty years. Any company that works with information relating to EU citizens will have to comply with the requirements of the GDPR, making it the first global data protection law.  Compliance is mandatory by 25th May 2018.

Annette White from PC Help Centre said:” We were delighted with the response from the local businesses that attended our GDPR Seminar and pleased we could provide a thorough overview of exactly what GDPR meant to those business leaders and we were able to deliver sufficient information to take away and really assess what next steps they need to implement within their organisations.”

Ishaq Kazi, Programmes Manager for Marsh Farm Futures said: “Futures Business Voice recognised the need for a seminar where local businesses and organisations could learn more about GDPR, an integral part of data protection that affects practically every type of business.  We are pleased with the response and feedback from participants and will be offering more business related workshops and seminars in the future.”
